Equus Run Vineyards Promotes Limited Quantity Private Label Wine for African American Forum Smooth Jazz Series

July 29, 2008 (Midway, Kentucky) – Equus Run Vineyards is proud to introduce its most recent private label bottle, a Bacchus Blush, for the African American Forum’s 2008 presentation of Smooth Jazz at Equus Run Vineyards. This private label bottle is available exclusively at Equus Run Vineyards in a limited quantity of 500 numbered bottles. The net proceeds from the sale of this product will benefit the African American Forum’s Capital Campaign Fund.

This year’s Smooth Jazz Series at Equus Run Vineyards features internationally renowned contemporary jazz band Pieces of a Dream.The event takes place thisSaturday, August 2nd, with gates opening at 4 p.m., followed by dinner from 5 – 7 p.m., and the concert at 7:30 - 9 p.m. The African American Forum is proud to hold its Smooth Jazz event for the second year at Equus Run Vineyards as part of the summer “Concerts at the Vineyard” series.

“This has been a collaborative effort between Equus Run Vineyards and the African American Forum,” said African American Forum’s President and CEO John E. Cole III. “The Smooth Jazz Concert Series has quickly become another one of our signature events that allows us to celebrate and share African American arts & culture in the Lexington-Bluegrass Region. We’re extremely delighted and pleased to offer this signature bottle to our guests in partnership with Equus Run Vineyards.”

The $20.00 private label Bacchus Blush will go on sale tomorrow, July 30th, and will be available exclusively at Equus Run Vineyards through the night of the event and thirty (30) days after the event or when they sellout, whichever comes first. This is the first private label of a three-part series, with the second and third private label bottles scheduled to be released in 2009 and 2010. This private label wine features the artwork of Lexington resident Gary R. Bibbs. Bibbs, a professor at the University of Kentucky, wanted the label artwork to portray the collaborative efforts of the vineyard, smooth jazz artist Pieces of a Dream, and the African American Forum.

“We are proud to be a partner and supporter of the African American Forum’s Smooth Jazz Concert Series,” said Equus Run Vineyards owner Cynthia Bohn. “We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with this private label bottle in support of the Forum’s Capital Campaign Fund and all that the Forum does for our community.”

General admission tickets, which include a barbeque picnic dinner, are $45 and can be purchased online at or by contacting the African American Forum at 859.255.2653. There are also a limited number of VIP tables of ten (10) available for $500 per table. Net proceeds will benefit the African American Forum Capital Campaign Fund. Participants are invited to bring lawn chairs and fold-up tables to Equus Run Vineyards as the mood is set for an enchanting entertainment experience.
