July 20, 2010 (Lexington, Kentucky) – The African American Forum, Inc. (AAF) officially announced that this year’s summer Smooth Jazz Fest will move to the South Lawn of Spindletop Hall, located at 3414 Ironworks Pike in Lexington.  Spindletop Hall is the perfect location to position the event for future growth because it is uniquely juxtaposed between I-75 and I-64, which makes the site accessible to Smooth Jazz fans traveling to Lexington from all points North, South, East and West of Lexington.

After enjoying a fabulous three (3) year run at Equus Run Vineyards in neighboring Midway, the summer Smooth Jazz Fest is now at a venue that is across from the Kentucky Horse Park, site of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.  “As a venue, Spindletop Hall offers the Smooth Jazz Fest a dynamic opportunity to truly become Kentucky’s destination for Smooth Jazz going forward,” said John E. Cole III, President and CEO of the African American Forum.

New partnerships have been forged as a result of the move to the stately manor, manicured lawns and majestic charm of Spindletop Hall.  “We’re excited to be the host for this year’s Smooth Jazz Fest and look forward to the opportunity to become the home for this great event,” stated Gerald Marvel, General Manager and COO of Spindletop Hall Faculty Alumni Club.  Lovers Leap Vineyards & Winery will be the co-presenter of this year’s Smooth Jazz Fest in and effort to assist the AAF with elevating the event to regional status.

As in 2007, a familiar face will help the African American Forum attract fans to the Smooth Jazz Fest from the Lexington-Bluegrass Region, across the Commonwealth of Kentucky and beyond. Saxophonist extraordinaire Marion Meadows will be making his way back to the Lexington-Bluegrass Region for a very special Secrets revealed performance. A limited number of tickets are still available and can be purchased online or by contacting the AAF.

In addition to Lovers Leap Vineyards & Winery, this years Smooth Jazz Fest is sponsored in part by AdColor, Inc., AT&T The Real Yellow Pages, DiamondKut Entertainment, Fifth Third Bank, Insight, LEX 18, Spindletop Hall and Smooth Jazz 102.1-FM, WKYL.  More sponsors will be announced prior to the event.
